What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website or use a web application. Similar technologies, such as local storage and session storage, serve comparable purposes. This policy describes how Startup Suite uses them on our marketing site and in the product.

How we use cookies

We group cookies into four categories:

  • Essential: required for the site and product to function: session management, authentication, security tokens, and load balancing. These cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.
  • Preferences: remember choices such as reduced-motion settings and UI preferences within the product.
  • Analytics: help us understand which pages and features are useful. On the marketing site, analytics cookies are off by default in the EU/UK until you accept them via our consent banner. We use privacy-oriented analytics where possible and do not sell cookie data to advertisers.
  • Third-party auth: when you sign in, our identity provider may set cookies necessary to maintain your session securely.

What we do not do

  • We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies on the marketing site.
  • We do not track you across unrelated third-party sites for ad profiling.
  • Product usage analytics, when enabled, are tied to improving Startup Suite, not ad sales.

Your choices

On first visit to the marketing site, you can accept or reject non-essential cookies via the consent banner. You can change your choice at any time from the footer link "Cookie settings" (or by clearing site data in your browser).

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies globally. Blocking essential cookies will prevent sign-in and may break parts of the product. Disabling analytics cookies does not affect your ability to use Startup Suite.

Retention

Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies typically last between 30 days and 12 months depending on their purpose. Authentication cookies follow the session lifetime set by our identity provider.

Updates

If we add new cookie categories or change our analytics tooling, we will update this policy and, where required, re-prompt for consent.
