Polar questions
Connecting Polar, answered
What founders ask before connecting Polar.
Will my MRR match what Polar shows?
It should as long as both count the same things. Because Polar is your merchant of record, the model is designed to report MRR excluding tax and show Polar's fees as a separate line.
What does merchant of record mean for my numbers?
Polar sells to your customers on your behalf, collects and pays the sales tax, then pays you out after its fee. Your forecast needs to show that payout, not the gross order value.
Can it change anything in my Polar store?
No. Startup Suite is built to read your orders and subscriptions into the model and never change products, prices or customers.
